He
You gave me hope,
An intimate awakening;
A purpose in my heart.
Me
I gave you faith,
Unquestioned consummated love;
Self-sacrifice for us.
We
Bowed in union,
The bells tolled sacrosanct;
Committed to be one.
But
Fate apostate,
Deserter sans obligation;
She remains your freedom.
Then
You lost my soul,
The whisper of eternity;
The spirit on my lips.
Now
I walk in death,
A wet, grey silence echoing;
Unable and unwilling.
Hope
A moment's peace,
Respite from regret and anger;
To touch the hand of God.
